Tonight we travel up to Stoke for this Carling Cup tie, i’m expecting a few changes to the team that comfortably beat Liverpool at the weekend.

I’d expect Gomes to start in goal, with Gallas and Sandro both to make a welcome return. Super Pav should also feature and will be keen to impress, I would expect a few of our youngsters to be involved but I think Harry would like to do well in the Carling Cup this year so he will field quite a strong team.

What a game and what a great performance!

We started the game really well and were in absolute complete control. We were passing the ball around well and were piling the pressure on Liverpool and when the ball feel to the little magician just outside their box there could only be one outcome. The little man took his goal well and celebrated in style (I was expecting him to kiss the badge though). Charlie Adam received two yellows in the first half and was given his marching orders and even though we were in complete control of the game we couldn’t improve on the scoreline in the first half.

It didn’t take us too long in the second half to build on our lead and goals from Defoe and two from Adebayor made the full time score 4 nil.

It was a fantastic all round performance and some very good displays by Parker, Adebayor and Kaboul in particular. TheHotspurs Man of the Match is going to Adebayor for his all round play, he was dropping back to link up the play and capped off his performance with 2 good goals.

It is nice to have strikers that are scoring goals, which is something that we really did miss last season.

This Sunday we welcome Liverpool to the Lane for this Premier League encounter.

We will make a host if changes to the team that we fielded during the week in our Europa League game. I would expect Friedel to be back in, Ekotto to return at left back, with Kaboul and King coming back into the middle. In midfield I’d expect to see Bale, Modric and Parker all return with Defoe partnering Adebayor upfront again.

Hopefully we can build on our 3 points against Wolves last weekend but Liverpool will be looking to bounce back from their defeat against Stoke.

Harry fielded a very young team for this Europa League game and the boys didn’t let themselves down.

We had spells of great passing football and were unlucky not to be awarded a penalty when Harry Kane was bought down in the box.

PAOK then got awarded a penalty when Cudicini bought down their forward, the penalty was scored but had to be retaken due to their players running into the box too soon, and the retake was put wide.

The second half was much the same but we would have lost it if it wasn’t for a couple of quality saves from Cudicini late on, therefore TheHotspurs Man of the Match Award goes to Carlo Cudicini.

Finally we have some points on the board.

With Parker and Adebayor making their debuts and the long awaited return of Ledley King, I knew before the game that we had a very good chance of taking full points from this game.

Both goals came in the 2nd half, with the first coming from Adebayor and the second coming from Defoe.

A good result and also a pretty good performance. The Hotspurs Man of the Match will go to Scott Parker for his all round steady play, and i’m sure he will prove to be a fantastic signing for us.
